The design of today's steel fuel jerrycans dates back to the beginning of World War II. The jerrycan was developed in 1936 by the German company Eisenwerke Müller & Co and was easy to move and quick to empty due to its unique and practical shape. This is in contrast to the British petrol cans. These leaked quickly and had an unreliable closure. When the British encountered the German "kanister", the benefits were immediately seen and the design was quickly copied. British soldiers used the nickname "Gerry" or "Jerry" for a German soldier, after a resident of 'Germany'. That's why they called the tank "Jerrycan".

Over the years, jerrycan design has only improved and they are still used by the military worldwide. The steel fuel jerrycans that we sell are standard equipped with a petrol-resistant coating and a sturdy closure with a locking pin. If you are looking for a sustainable fuel jerrycan that meets the highest safety requirements, then our steel jerrycans are the ones you are looking for.
